llustrated with the Tarot of the Spirit deck painted by Joyce Eakins. Centered on the Qabbalistic Tree of Life, this symbolism clearly explores the Minor Arcana as a representation of the four components of life: spirit, emotion, intellect, andbody; while it reveals the Major Arcana to be the keys to our emotional response patterns to the symbolic universe in which we live. So much so, that it has become a part of my daily life. The art work is beautiful and extremely complex in its symbolism. The companion book continues to shock me in its validity to my own life. Dr. Eakins could not have done a better job! An excellent purchase for both beginning and experienced tarot readers. 27 of 27 people found the following review helpful: ![]() By Allseasons (Boston, MA USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Tarot of the Spirit (Paperback) This book and deck are the most profound I have found. I had given up on tarot because the most commonly used decks and books are so materially oriented, mostly interested in money, health, and romance. This deck and book set, however, is both intelligent and spiritually wise. I was a scientist before I retired to explore art and spirituality, and it is a rare book that does not seem naive in one or more of these dimension. Thank you, Pamela and Joyce. I also posted this review in response to the deck that accompanies the book. I would recommend getting both, although I started with the book and then got the deck. 25 of 25 people found the following review helpful: ![]() By A Customer This review is from: Tarot of the Spirit (Paperback) this deck has detailed, if somewhat surreal imagery. instead of wands or coins this deck uses fire, to represent spirit, earth, etc. it isn't king, queen, etc. but mother, father, sister, brother. the imagery has sometimes hidden elements that can surprise you long after you think you know the deck. i recomend this deck for more advanced readers, or those more attuned to the elements. |
